Grant County agencies find 400 pounds of marijuana

MOSES LAKE, Wash. -

Two men were arrested and 400 lbs. of Marijuana seized as the result of a month-long investigation by Grant County’s Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team.

Grant County deputies said that on Nov. 2, INET detectives were conducting surveillance on a home on the 14000 block of Third Street Northeast in Moses Lake. The detectives saw two men leave the home in a car. Moses Lake Police stopped that car, smelled marijuana, and searched the car. They found a large amount of marijuana packaged for sale.

Carlos Ali Cera, 18, of Royal City and Juan Carlos Cortez Barajas, 20, of Quincy were arrested.

Grant County deputies said they searched the home on Third Street and INET detectives found more than 400 pounds of marijuana, including 19 mature plants. The plants were found inside a plywood grow, which is a marijuana growing operation hidden by sheets of plywood. Detectives also found two sheds on the property dedicated to drying and processing marijuana for sale.

INET detectives said they also seized more than $3,000 cash.
