Firefighters quickly extinguish house fire in Nine Mile Falls

NINE MILE FALLS, Wash. -

Spokane firefighters quickly knocked down a house fire in Nine Mile Falls.

The fire started just just before 7:30 a.m. Friday on the 9300 block of West Ownby Drive.

Firefighters said the fire started in couch in the basement of the house, but a fire investigator is still looking into what ignited the fire.

Firefighters put it out in about ten minutes and were able to keep the fire contained to one room. Firefighters are working on overhaul and checking for hot spots now.
