Driver crashs car into Spokane River
SPOKANE, Wash. -

A man was arrested early Sunday morning for drunk driving after crashing his Honda Accord into the Spokane River off of Upriver Drive.

The driver was headed westbound on Upriver when he hit a tree, went down an embankment and crashed into the river.

The car became upside down and sunk. The driver was able to make it out of the car safely.

He was booked into jail for DUI.

Spokane Police and the county dive team waited until Sunday afternoon to pull the car out of the river.
