A Spokane man, who police say robbed several grocery stores, is now behind bars.
Police arrested David Drake, 38, Wednesday night near Montgomery and Argonne.
Kimberly Berard was in the middle of making a Philly sandwich at Caruso's when police quickly surrounded the sandwich shop off Argonne.
"I turned around and saw a bike on the ground and I was like that's weird, some guy was like running toward it," she said.
Officers were after Drake, who the sheriff's office has been searching for since May 2 when allegedly robbed a Safeway on Sprague Avenue. Detectives also believe he's responsible for robbing another Safeway on May 7.
They say Drake walked into each store and demanded the customer service clerk fill his backpack with cash.
Over the past week, the sheriff's office has been circulating photos and Wednesday night detectives finally tracked him down.
"I'm glad they got the guy, it happened quick, they were efficient and they got him out of here," Caruso's employee Jill Pendleton said.
Drake was charged with four counts of robbery and booked into the Spokane County Jail.
