A man is recovering in the hospital from being stabbed in the neck.

Around 11:30 Sunday morning, two men got into a fight at the 800 block of Freya. It ended with one of the men being stabbed in the neck.

The suspect left the scene and the victim stumbled up to nearby church, Beyond Grace Fellowship.

The church members helped the man until medics could arrive. Police say the man would not have survived without the church's help.

Police were able to locate the stabbing suspect nearby. 40-year-old Ian B. Bennington was taken into custody for 1st Degree Assault.

The cause of their fight is still under investigation.
