Police are recommending felony assault charges against two 12-year-old boys accused of attacking a 13-year-old at a Spokane skate park.

The assault on Aug. 20 at Hillyard Skate Park left Riley Kysar with a broken nose, broken jaw, broken arm and concussion.

His mother, Connie Kysar, said all his food goes through a blender, and he has to eat through a straw while his jaw heals.

Kysar spoke at this week's city council meeting and asked for more police patrols, lights and surveillance cameras at the park.
