Authorities searching for escaped Geiger inmate
The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Geiger Corrections Deputies are looking for a missing inmate who escaped Sunday night.
The inmate, 38-year-old Michael S. Wheeler, was last seen by Geiger staff between 5:35 and 5:55 p.m. in the kitchen area where he was assigned as an inmate worker.
Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies, K9 and additional assisting agencies responded to the area, set up a perimeter and conducted a search, but were unable to locate Wheeler.
Wheeler is described as a white man, 5’08’, 170 lbs, brown hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing a tan or blue jumpsuit.
Wheeler was in custody for several charges: Attempting to Elude, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Assault of a Health Service Provider, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Stolen Property, Residential Burglary and Theft Charges.
