The Fourth of July is just two days away and that means millions of Americans will be hitting the road and AAA predicts that five percent more people will be traveling this holiday than last year.
AAA said about 35 million people plan to travel by car for Independence Day trips this year.
Here in Spokane, some good news for drivers as gas prices have been steadily falling in the area. Over the last week prices dropped seven cents, averaging about $3.69 per gallon.
Compared to this time last year, gas is about four cents cheaper, however that's still much higher than the national average for a gallon of gas at $3.37.
Gas prices in Spokane are down 26 cents in the last month.
