AARON- JERRY WEED IS A 95 YEARS OLD WORLD WAR TWO
TODAY HE TOLD ME.
I CAN'T REMEMBER WHAT I DID YESTERDAY.
BUT I REMEMBER EVERY DETAIL ABOUT D-DAY.
NATS OF SONG
JUST LIKE SO MANY MEN AND WOMEN WHO JOINED THE MILITARY
WITH A DESIRE TO DEFEND THEIR COUNTRY AFTER 9/11
THE SAME EFFECT TOOK PLACE AFTER THE BOMBING OF PEARL
Bill Weed, Jerry's son :09W8 26
That was Sunday afternoon that he found out and Monday
he quit his job and went down.
and joined the army.
BILL WEED DOESN'T CLAIM HIS DAD JERRY IS PERFECT.
BUT HE WILL TELL YOU.
HE IS A HERO.
He was involved in D-day of course, Bridge too far,
battle of the buldge, wounded twice, two bronze stars
it goes on and on and on.
HALF A CENTURY AFTER JERRY SERVED IN WORLD WAR TWO.
BILL WANTS TO MAKE SURE HIS DEDICATION AS AN ARMY
AND A FATHER.
NEVER GOES UNNOTICED.
He has done so much for us.
His family and for his country.
THAT IS WHY BILL DECIDED THAT THIS JULY 4TH WOULD
BE ONE HIS DAD NEVER FORGETS.
He's proud to be a paratrooper, so he'll buy anything,
and he has these little flags in his apartment and
I'm like these things need to be shown, they need
SO BILL ERRECTED A FLAG POLE IN HIS FRONT YARD SO
HIS DAD'S FLAGS COULD DO JUST THAT.
WITH HIS ARMY SPECIALIST SON.
BILL HUNG THE FLAGS.
AS HIS DAD LOOKED ON.
HIS EYES WHERE FILLED WITH TEARS.
BUT HIS HEART WAS FULL OF PRIDE.
I'm going to fly them all year long you know, and
honor my dad long after he's gone.
TODAY BILL ASKED HIS DAD.
DO YOU KNOW WHERE YOU WERE ON JULY 4TH DURING THE
WAR? TO WHICH JERRY REPLIED.
I KNOW WHERE I WASN'T.
I WASN'T HOME.
AND WITH THAT WE WANT TO THANK ALL THE MEN AND WOMEN
WHO SARCIFICE SO MUCH FOR US EVERYDAY.
