ONE OF THE KEYS TO SUCCESS AT HOOPFEST IS TEAMWORK.
THE FILZEN'S MAY NOT ACTUALLY BE PARTICIPATING IN
BUT THEY ARE WORKING TOWARDS ONE GOAL.
Get papa a kidney.
SINCE AUGUST JIM FILZEN HAS BEEN ON THE KIDENY TRANSPLANT
LIST WHEN HIS KIDNEY FUNCTION WENT BELOW 20...
AND WITHIN MONTHS IT DROPPED TO JUST 13 PERCENT.
Since January first I have been on dialysis three
days a week, four hours a day.
EVERY MEMBER OF THE FILZEN FAMILY HAS BEEN TESTED
TO SEE IF THEY CAN GIVE A KIDNEY...
THEY ARE EITHER UNABLE TO DONATE FOR HEALTH REASONS.
OR THEY'RE SILMPLY NOT A MATCH.
So far I tried to do it, and was unable.
it would be awesome if somebody came forward and was
willing to do that.
THE FAMILY IS SPENDING THEIR HOOPFEST WEEKEND PASSING
OUT FLYERS AND WATER BOTTLES WITH AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE...
CONSIDER GIVING THE GIFT OF LIFE.
We just thought hey why not spread the word and see
if anybody out there will be wiling to do something
A KIDNEY FOR JIM FILZEN.
IS A TRUE TEAM EFFORT.
AND THEIR SUPPORT TO SAVE THEIR HUSBAND.
AND GRANDFATHER HAS BROUGHT THIS CLOSE FAMILY.
They are just really...wow.
I guess it just shows the love they have for me and
boy I just got to love them right back it's really
IF ANYTHING THE FAMILY HOPES THEIR EFFORTS ENCOURAGES
PEOPLE TO BECOME LIVE DONORS.
It does happen everyday.
I think there are over 100 thousand people that are
currently looking for a donation that are on the transplant
AND OF COURSE.
FINDING A MATCH FOR JIM.
I love my Papa and I hope he gets a kidney.
