IT'S A STORY WE BROUGHT YOU YESTERDAY FIRST ON KXLY4
PEOPLE UPSET OVER A LEGAL POT GROW IN THEIR NEIGHBORHOOD.
JOHN HENDRICKS FOLLOWING UP THAT STORY TONIGHT.
HE'S HERE WITH THE EXCLUSIVE LOOK BEHIND THE FENCE
OF THAT POT GROW.
AND AN INTERVIEW YOU'LL SEE ONLY ON KXLY4.
NEIGHBORS I SPOKE WITH YESTERDAY WERE CONCERNED THE
GROW OPERATION COULD BRING MORE CRIME TO THE COMMUNITY.
THE MAN LEASING THE PROPERTY TOLD ME TODAY HE'S GONE
ABOVE AND BEYOND TO MAKE THE GROW SAFE...AND TONIGHT,
WE'RE GIVING YOU A FIRST-HAND LOOK.
THE BARBED FENCING AND CAMERAS AROUND THIS BUILDING
OFF STATE HIGHWAY 206.
PUT UP TO PROTECT THE MARIJUANA GROWING INSIDE SAFE.
I have taken extra measures to be sure and not only
protect myself and my business but the community here
IT'S SOME OF THE MANY PRECAUTIONS BUSINESS OWNER FRANK
SCHADE HAS DONE SINCE APPLYING FOR A GROW PERMIT LAST
I got my license awarded to me but I was given the
verbal okay about two weeks prior to that.
So I don't know I'm just very proud of getting up
and going so quickly number 7 in the whole state.
INSIDE GROW LIGHTS SHINE DOWN ON PLANTS GROWING SINCE
BUT THIS HAS SOME IN THE COMMUNITY CONCERNED...
SAYING IT COULD BRING MORE CRIME TO THE AREA.
I don't think if this was a corner store that sold
candy, alchohol or coffee there would be any more
likely hood of it being robbed than my business here.
SHADE SAYS HE UNDERSTANDS THOSE CONCERNS AND WANTS
TO WORK WITH HIS NEW NEIGHBORS.
IN ORDER TO HAVE HIS TEIR ONE PERMIT.
HE HAD TO HAVE AT LEAST 12 CAMERAS.
HE HAS 32.
AND THE FENCE SURROUNDING THE PROPERTY.
I wouldn't like to get robbed anymore than anyone
around here would like to see that sort of thing happen
SCHADE TELLS ME HE WANTS TO BE AT THE NEXT COMMUNITY
MEETING SO HE CAN ADDRESS AND HEAR NEIGHBORS CONCERNS.
HE ADDS ANYONE WHO HAS QUESTIONS SHOULD FEEL FREE
TO CONTACT HIM.
THE PROCESS TO GET ONE OF THESE GROW LICENES IS PRETTY
DID HE TALK ABOUT THAT?
HE DID NADINE.
HE SAID HE HAD TO GO THROUGH AN INTENSE BACKGROUND
AS DID SOME OF HIS CLOSE FAMILY MEMBERS.
HE SAYS IT WAS FAR MORE INVOLVED THAN WHEN A COMPANY
HIRES AN EMPLOYEE.
WE'LL CONTINUE TO KEEP YOU UP TO DATE WITH THE NEW
AND GROWING MARIJUANA INDUSTRY...JUST TUNE IN ON-AIR,
ONLINE AT KXLY DOT COM AND ON THE RADIO WITH KXLY
