What an awful end to Mother's Day.
These are families living here.
Some have been able to return.
But as you can see behind me there's a whole upper
floor that are having to stay elsewhere tonight.
The fire Started just after 8.
Everyone in the Pine Villa apartments was evacuated.
Thankfully, There's been no reported injuries.
Fire officials say it started on the outside and worked
its way up the building
They believe it got into the eve and that's how it
Four apartments are a complete loss and more aw likely
seeing damage because of the smoke.
Neighbors say everything escalated very quickly.
The fire was really small and then grew really fast
a it just engulfed the whole building.
Neighbors say that kids might be to blame.
Spokane county fire officials say it's a possibly,
but will investigate to make sure.
They will remain on scene.
They're still making sure the fire is completely out.
They're also talking to neighbors and investigating
what could have happened.
Again, no reported injuries.
So quick acting on these first responders, preventing
what could have been a very tragic Mother's Day.
