The Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency has announced federal emergency aid is available for the state of Washington to help with wildfire relief.

President Obama signed the emergency declaration for Washington on Wednesday.

His action authorizes FEMA to coordinate all disaster relief efforts to help with the hardship and suffering caused by recent wildfires.

FEMA can now provide the required assistance to the counties of Chelan and Okanogan and the Confederate Tribes of the Colville Reservation.

Specifically, FEMA can provide equipment and resources necessary to alleviate the impacts of the fires.
