A DOWNTOWN SPOKANE BUSINESSMAN SAYS A SERIES
OF BURGLARIES AT HIS SPORTS STORE ARE
THREATENING TO PUT HIM OUT OF BUSINESS.
KXLY FOUR'S JEFF HUMPHREY WAS AT SPORT TOWN
WHERE THIEVES HAVE BROKEN IN THREE TIMES SINCE SEPTEMBER.
WE FIRST MET STEVE WARWICK LAST FALL AFTER
STREET KIDS USED A METAL PIPE TO SMASH
OUT A VERY LARGE WINDOW AND STEAL EXPENSIVE SUNGLASSES.
A SURVEILLANCE CAMERA CAUGHT THE GROUP DIVIDING
UP THE LOOT IN A NEARBY STAIRWELL.
THEN OVER THIS WEEKEND SPORT TOWN WAS BROKEN INTO AGAIN.
NOT ONCE BUT TWICE.
STEVE WARWICK/SPORT TOWN 27;04 we know because we've seen part of
the merchandise that was confiscated there was four or five seahawk
items but there was other items besides just seahawks items 27;148
WARWICK SPENT A THOUSAND BUCKS REPAIRING THE FRONT
DOOR ONLY TO GET HIT FOLLOWING NIGHT
27;48 was hoping it wasn't going to happen again the
next night so i go home and go to bed.
three thirty in the morning.
i think it was.
i get a phone call and i'm back on my way up here 27;579
WARWICK MIGHT HAVE NEVER KNOWN WHO HAD STOLEN HIS
STUFF BUT A FRIEND OF PARISH TATE SPOTTED TATE
WITH TWO TRASH BAGS OF SPORT TOWN LOOT AND CALLED POLICE.
28;51 that person was trying to do the right
thing and was trying to do the world a
better place by doing the right thing 28;5810
MEANWHILE IT WAS TATE'S FOURTH ARREST IN LESS THAN A MONTH.
WARWICK WENT TO COURT TODAY TO
LOBBY FOR A HIGH BOND AMOUNT.
BUT BECAUSE RIGHT NOW TATE IS ONLY CHARGED
WITH POSSESSION STOLEN PROPERTY, NOT THE BURGLARIES THE
JUDGE SET BOND AT JUST FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS.
REPORTING IN SPOKANE, JEFF HUMPHREY, KXLY FOUR.
