Sound Off for November 9th: Does it bother you Washington takes so long to count ballots?
You may be asking, what's taking so long?
Isn't vote-by-mail supposed to make things more efficient?
The Seattle Times reports 30 states and the District of Columbia have counted all of their ballots, 12 states have counted about 99 percent.
Eight other states have counted about 95 percent.
But, Washington has still only counted 76 percent, leaving some races up in the air.
Elections officials tell the Times, it's the fault of voters who wait until the last minute to mail in their ballots.
Oregon is vote-by-mail as well, but there, you have to have your ballot "in" by election day, not just post-marked.
Does it bother you Washington is so slow getting ballots counted?
Would you like to see our state adopt the same rule as Oregon and have ballots "in" by election day?
