Congress tackels gun control

Residents of Tucson today have marked the second anniversary of the shootings that left six people dead and 12 others injured, including congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.

Giffords and her husband today launched a political action committee aimed at curbing gun violence.

Despite being gun owners themselves, Giffords and Kelly called the Sandy Hook shooting in Newtown a turning point.

They say their initiative will help raise money to support gun control efforts.

They sat down with Diane Sawyer, telling her they're working with politicians to take high powered gun lobbyists head on and hope to engage the nation in a real discussion about preventing gun violence.

Both are pushing for background checks for private gun sales and limiting high capacity magazine clips.

Do you agree with Giffords and Kelly, that something needs to be done?  Do you think tougher background checks will prevent violence like Newtown or the movie theater shooting in Aurora, Colorado?
