The death of Otto Zehm and subsequent federal trial of Karl Thompson has divided our community for six years and many were hoping for closure from Thursday's sentencing.
Federal prosecutors say our community was so upset about the city's handling of the Zehm case, that's why Mayor Mary Verner lost re-election and David Condon was voted into office. They also believe the Zehm case eroded public trust of the Spokane Police Department.
So the question is do you think Thompson's sentencing brings closure to our community? Can we move forward with trust in the system or are there still lessons to be learned from this case?
