Kalispell-area kids who like to fish can help a wildlife rehabilitation center feed two recently rescued bald eagle chicks.
The chicks were brought to the Wild Wings Recovery Center after apparently falling out of their nest on the east shore of Whitefish Lake last week.
The Daily Inter Lake reports a young boy who attended a Father's Day weekend presentation about the center at a sporting goods store with a kids' fishing pond offered his catch that day to help feed the birds.
Wildlife biologist and center volunteer Doug MacCarter accepted. He then asked Snappy Sport Senter owner B.J. Lupton about developing a partnership between Wild Wings and Snappy's kids' fishing pond.
Starting this Saturday, young anglers will have the opportunity to donate the fish they catch to the recovery center.
