The company that recently won the concessionaire's contract for Glacier National Park plans to open office and warehouse space in Columbia Falls.
Marc Ducharme is general manager for Xanterra Parks and Resorts Glacier Division. He tells the Hungry Horse News the company is looking at converting the former Pamida store in Columbia Falls into offices, a warehouse and laundry. Xanterra also plans to build a storage facility and garage for the 33 historic buses.
Ducharme says both facilities would mean bringing 35 full-time jobs to the city.
The buses have been housed at a facility in East Glacier for the past 32 years while Glacier Park Inc. had the concessions contract.
Late last year, Xanterra won the 16-year contract to operate Glacier park's lodges, restaurants, stores and tour buses.
