A 54-year-old Billings woman is charged with using a 91-year-old man's credit card without his permission, making nearly $2,000 in purchases from Neiman Marcus.
The Billings Gazette reports Rachell Tina Marks pleaded not guilty Monday to felony deceptive practices during a hearing before District Judge Gregory Todd. He allowed her to remain free on a posted $2,500 bond.
Prosecutors say police received a report from state social workers in June about a possible elder abuse case.
The 91-year-old man told officers he met Marks while grocery shopping in May. They talked and had lunch a few days later. She told him she needed new glasses and asked to use his credit card. She gave him $200 in cash.
Prosecutors say Marks bought a fur coat, pearl earrings, and other items.
