BILLINGS, Mont. -

Musselshell County officials are investigating the death of a woman who may have been struck by a vehicle rolling down a hill.

Sheriff Woodrow Weitzel tells The Billings Gazette (http://bit.ly/1jc2iZt) there were no witnesses to the accident, which happened on private property southwest of Roundup.

Weitzel says officials believe the woman may have been trying to stop her car from rolling away after she parked it. He says it appears she was dragged about 100 feet before the car continued down a hill.

The landowner discovered the woman just after 3:30 p.m. Monday. She was still alive, but died several hours later at an area hospital.

Weitzel said it appeared the woman died of blunt force trauma from being hit by the car. An autopsy was planned.  Her name, age and hometown haven't been released.
