The University of Idaho won't name a permanent director for one of its marquee public policy research centers until mid-2014, after the new dean of its College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences comes on board.
Earlier this week, the Moscow school named Priscilla Salant the interim director of the James A. and Louise McClure Center for Public Policy Research.
But the job won't be filled permanently until after Andrew Kersten takes over as dean of the college that oversees the center on June 29.
He's currently at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.
Spokeswoman Amanda Cairo says UI wants Kersten to play a significant role in selecting the McClure Center's leader.
There's been significant turnover at the McClure Center's helm, with Salant the third person to run it since 2010.
