OKANOGAN, Wash. -

The Okanogan County Sheriff's Office confirms two people are dead in an apparent murder / suicide in Malott Monday afternoon.

Sheriff deputies responded to a shots fired call at 12:30 p.m. at 1481 Old Highway 97 in Malott. When they arrived they found two people dead from gunshot wounds.

Authorities report that the owners of the property, William Bordua, 65, of Okanogan, and his wife, had gone to the residence to evict the man living there, 47-year-old Tony Halford.

While they were talking in the bedroom of the residence there was an argument between Bordua's wife and Halford. Bordua stepped between his wife and Halford, who reached over the bed, pulled out a .40 caliber semiautomatic pistol and shot Bordua once in the chest, killing him.

Halford told Bordua's wife the next bullet was for her but instead walked out to the front porch of the residence and shot himself. Both Halford and Bordua were pronounced dead at the scene.
