Some Machinists in the Puget Sound are planning a rally to push their local union leaders to bring a Boeing contract offer to a vote.
Paul Fritzler is a mechanic on the 767. He said Monday that there is growing fear among workers that Boeing is prepared to send its 777X work to another state. He says many workers want a chance to vote on Boeing's latest offer, even though local union leaders have said the contract is too similar to one rejected last month.
Fritzler and his family are organizing a Wednesday rally to support a contract vote. Federal, state and local political leaders have also called for a vote.
Local union leaders have said there is nothing to vote on because Boeing withdrew its offer. Boeing has said the offer was rejected by union leaders, not withdrawn.
