SEATTLE -

A new streetcar line in downtown Seattle could link two existing trolley lines and provide a stop at the busy Pike Place Market.

KING reports the city Transportation Department has picked a First Avenue route for a line that would connect the South Lake Union streetcar line with the First Hill streetcar line that ends in Pioneer Square.

The project would eliminate 144 parking spaces on First Avenue.

The Seattle City Council is scheduled to vote Monday on the proposed connector trolley line.
