SEATTLE -

The city of Seattle has agreed to pay $45,000 to settle a lawsuit with a woman who was stunned with a Taser because she refused to sign a traffic citation.

Malaika Brooks was pregnant at the time of her 2004 arrest.

In announcing the settlement Wednesday, City Attorney Pete Holmes said the city and police admit no wrongdoing in the case. Trial was set for November.

The Legislature has amended the law to say people who refuse to sign a ticket are no longer subject to arrest.
