Four years after a Yakima man disappeared, his family and local police continue their search. But now the case is considered a homicide.
The Yakima Herald reports Larry Riegel was a 57-year-old contract pilot with a carpentry business when he was last heard from Christmas Day in 2009.
Yakima police Lt. Nolan Wentz says they're trying to bring the case to people's attention again, but Riegel's disappearance has never really left the public eye because of his family's diligence. The family even paid for large billboards around the community featuring his picture.
His body was never found and investigators have found very little evidence.
Wentz says there's been a lot of speculation about what really happened to Riegel but the case is really a puzzle.
