Helena, MT -

A search for a missing Denver man whose pickup was found at a trailhead northeast of Helena will resume in the spring after a weekend search failed to turn up any sign of the man.

The Independent Record reports searchers on horseback, with dog teams and in helicopters spent Thursday, Saturday and Sunday looking for 52-year-old Dale Brownlow.

His sister, Carol Matthews, says her brother had been staying at a Helena motel since August and was paying by the day. The wildlife biologist last paid for his room on Nov. 28.

Lewis and Clark County Sheriff Leo Dutton says the weekend search did not offer any indication of where to concentrate the search.

Dutton says he does not believe Brownlow is still alive. Officials plan to search again when the snow melts.
