Former Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer has joined cable news channel MSNBC as a contributor.
The Democrat was introduced as a new contributor Wednesday during an appearance on "The Ed Show" with Ed Schultz for a segment on the proposed Keystone XL oil pipeline.
Schweitzer has appeared regularly on various news programs since leaving office in January 2013.
He appears to be eying a 2016 run for president. He's visited the key Democratic caucus state of Iowa, but has made no formal announcement. He told The Associated Press earlier this month a run is something he "might consider in the future."
After serving the maximum two terms as Montana governor, Schweitzer led a corporate board takeover at Stillwater Mining Co. He now serves as board chairman for the company that extracts platinum and palladium from Montana's Beartooth Mountains.
