LONG BEACH, Wash. -

Long Beach has revived the historic Razor Clam Festival this weekend to celebrate digging, cooking and eating the popular bivalve.

The town that advertises the "world's longest beach" also says it has the "world's largest frying pan." Tourists have been taking their pictures in front of the pan for decades.

Another big, newer stainless steel pan will be used this weekend by students from the Ilwaco High School Culinary Arts class. They're competing for the best clam fritter recipe.

The Daily News reports the 8-foot diameter pan is so large it's sometimes flipped over and used as a small stage.

As part of the festival, a large statue of a spitting clam will once again "spit" water out its top for a quarter.
