Two men are being honored for saving another man's life in Medford last month.
John Bowling and Tyler Sparks came across a bicyclist who had collapse during a ride Aug. 13. The two performed CPR, maintaining the patient's airway and holding his neck in line to protect his spine, and they saved his life.
For their efforts, Medford Fire-Rescue was awarding them certificates of recognition Monday.
The department says studies have shown that effective bystander CPR, when provided immediately, can double or triple the chance of survival from a heart attack.
