A Polson police officer who was recently ordered to undergo ethics training and a chemical dependency evaluation by the board that certifies law enforcement officers is on paid leave while officers investigate an off-duty incident at a Polson bar.
Police Chief Wade Nash says he asked Missoula County to investigate Cory Anderson and the assault reported at a Polson bar on Saturday night.
Anderson was recently investigated by the Montana Public Safety Officer Standards and Training Council over several alcohol-related incidents dating back to 2002, including a car crash, domestic abuse and being kicked out of a bar for public intoxication.
He was ordered by POST in December to attend ethics training and comply with any recommendations of the chemical dependency evaluator.
A phone number listed for Anderson in Big Arm was disconnected.
