PORT ANGELES, Wash. -

Police say a 59-year-old man fatally shot by police officers during a standoff had been threatening people for two days.

The Peninsula Daily News reports that the man was shot Friday at a mobile home park near Forks.

Sheriff Bill Benedict says no officers were injured.

Benedict says the man was armed with a handgun but did not fire his weapon.

A neighbor had called 9-1-1 to report that the man was acting erratically. Benedict says the man was screaming all night the night before the shooting.

The man was at the threshold of his RV when officers arrived.

One of the officers fired a Taser at him and he retrieved a handgun from inside. Benedict didn't know if the man pointed his gun at the officers before they shot him.
