A 250-pound black bear kept Kalispell police officers busy for several hours as they hazed the animal out of town -- twice.
Officer Ryan Bartholemew told The Daily Inter Lake that police received several reports of a bear on the west end of town at about 10 p.m. Monday. He says officers used their spotlights to keep the bear "moseying along" as they pushed it toward the Foy's Lake area southwest of town.
However, about an hour later, the bear was back.
Officers eventually pushed the bear north up Main Street and toward the Lawrence Park area in the northeast part of town by 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Patrol Capt. Tim Falkner said the department hadn't received any more reports of bear sightings by Tuesday afternoon.
