Police in Oregon have identified an 88-year-old as the suspected gunman who wounded a volunteer reserve police officer at the scene of a house fire.
A SWAT team from the Clackamas County sheriff's office killed the gunman, identified Monday as Lawrence Cambra.
Sgt. Dan Kraus says investigators are still trying to determine a motive but don't believe the fire was set lure police into an ambush.
The officer, 41-year-old Robert Libke, was airlifted to a hospital Sunday after the shooting in Oregon City. Police have not released information about his condition.
Police say Libke and a regular Oregon City police officer were the first to respond to reports of an armed man at the scene of a house fire.
Authorities believe the fire was set.
