Pendleton police are asking the public to help identify a person of interest in an assault that left a woman in critical condition.
Police received a report late Friday night that the woman had gone missing during a walk earlier that evening. She was found just before 7 a.m. Saturday morning near a levee behind a baseball field.
The woman was taken to St. Anthony Hospital and later flown to Oregon Health & Science University in Portland.
Police released what appears to be a grainy surveillance photograph of the man they're looking for. He's described as 18 to 25 years old, about 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-11, 150 to 175 pounds, with a tan or darker skin tone and dark brown or black hair.
He was last seen wearing khaki shorts and a dark brown or black t-shirt.
