Grants Pass, OR -

Two Grants Pass people accused of stealing mail from 400 victims in Jackson and Josephine counties have been indicted on federal charges of mail and identity theft and bank fraud.

The U.S. attorney's office says 49-year-old Gregory Stephen Brooks and 44-year-old Michelle Renee Lustig would use personal information from the mail to open bank accounts and fraudulently use checks, debit cards and ATMs.

The Mail Tribune reports Brooks was arraigned in Medford and his trial is set for Nov. 19. A warrant has been issued for Lustig's arrest.
