The Oregon Film Museum is having a blockbuster year.
The Daily Astorian reports the north coast tourist attraction has received 12,477 visitors through July. That's 37 percent more than in all of 2012.
The film museum is housed in what was once the county jail. This is its third year in operation, and it gets a lot of tourists who come to Astoria see locations from the 1985 movie "The Goonies."
Cathy Fraccelle, who works for the Clatsop County Historical Society, says visitors from all over the world have toured the museum. This week, while working the front desk, she met visitors from Italy and Germany. In the past, she remembers a motorcycle group from Astoria, N.Y., riding across the country and checking out the museum.
