A 33-year-old Meridian man died and a 35-year-old woman was injured in a rollover crash as the man tried to elude a sheriff's deputy who tried to stop him for speeding.
The Idaho State Police says Nicholas Garshelis was driving a pickup truck north on State Highway 55 at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday when a Boise County deputy tried to pull him over for speeding. The pickup continued and the deputy pursued the vehicle until it turned west onto Pearl Road, about 15 miles north of Boise.
Further down the road, the driver lost control on a curve and the pickup rolled.
Garshelis died at the scene. His passenger, Cayce Myers of Ada County, was seriously injured.
The ISP is investigating the crash.
