Medford bans marijuana dispensaries
The city of Medford City will not be allowing any medical marijuana dispensaries to do business in the city limits, despite the new state law allowing the sale of medical marijuana through pot shops.
The Mail Tribune reported Tuesday that the City Council last month expanded an ordinance banning business licenses to any that violate local, state or federal law, and a few weeks ago revoked the license of a dispensary called Maryjane's Attic.
State Rep. Peter Buckley, an Ashland Democrat who helped craft the new law, says he hopes cities will hold off imposing their own restrictions on dispensaries until the state finishes writing the rules that lay out the specifics of the law.
