A 38-year-old Glendive man has died after being struck by a semi on Interstate 94 near Glendive.
The Montana Highway Patrol says the driver of the semi was westbound about 16 miles outside Glendive Wednesday evening when he briefly saw something dark on the roadway and hit it. The driver stopped, saw the man in the ditch and called 911.
Dawson County Coroner Lance Silha tells The Billings Gazette (http://bit.ly/19jhPPW ) that victim was McLane Hathaway O'Brien.
The patrol says O'Brien was wearing dark clothes and walking down the roadway when he was struck. Trooper Glenn Quinnell says it's not clear why he was walking in the road.
