A Roseburg man convicted of pointing a gun at Douglas County sheriff's deputies has been sentenced to five years in prison.
The Roseburg News-Review reports that 64-year-old Henry Kuester did not have a chance to speak at a brief hearing this week.
A jury found him guilty last month of unlawful use of a weapon, menacing and other charges stemming from an Aug. 7 standoff.
Deputies testified that Kuester pointed a gun at deputies after they forced their way through the front door. The deputies retreated and a three-hour standoff ended with them using an explosive device and tear gas to force Kuester out of his trailer and into custody.
