An Idaho man who spent six months living on a Pocatello street corner has found a new home.
The Idaho State Journal reports that Nichole Lindstrom and her fiancé took Gary Kerness in after watching him on the street corner for months.
Kerness was living on the streets to protest what he claims is unfair housing accommodations for Pocatello's disabled citizens after he was evicted for multiple disturbing the peace violations.
Kerness is diabetic and has muscular dystrophy. Lindstrom had previously worked as his caregiver and during his homelessness she would often stop to take pictures and chat.
Lindstrom says Kerness is like family and does not deserve to spend the cold winter months on the street.
Kerness says he will continue his protest for adequate housing options.
