A 19-year-old Twin Bridges man died in a rollover crash who was riding in the back of a pickup truck on a gravel road about 7 miles west of Twin Bridges.
The Montana Highway Patrol says Michael Pfertsch was riding in the bed of a small pickup at about 3 a.m. Sunday when the driver failed to negotiate a turn. The pickup went off the road and rolled three-quarters of the way over. Pfertsch was thrown from the bed and pinned by the truck. He died at the scene.
Four people who were in the cab of the pickup did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
Trooper Mitch Voss says speed and alcohol were factors in the crash and he anticipated charges would be filed against the 20-year-old driver.
