Marion County authorities say a 64-year-old man died in a logging accident when a stalled bulldozer lurched as it was being jump-started, backed down a ravine and ran over him.
A second worker was taken to the hospital with serious arm injuries.
The sheriff's office says several men were moving downed logs Thursday evening from a ravine about two miles northwest of Mount Angel when the 1940s bulldozer stalled near the top.
A statement says Douglas Haycock was standing on the tracks and died when he got entangled in them and then pulled under the bulldozer.
It said 68-year-old William Leder got caught between the tracks and the bulldozer's blade. A backhoe raised the blade and freed him.
