BILLINGS, Mont. -

A 29-year-old man died and his 31-year-old passenger was injured in a motorcycle crash near Sidney.

The Montana Highway Patrol says the motorcycle was southbound on a county road at about 10:25 p.m. Monday when it drifted onto the shoulder. The patrol says the driver over-corrected, the motorcycle went off the road and both men were thrown from the bike.

The Billings Gazette reports the driver died at the scene while his passenger was taken to the hospital in Sidney. Their names have not been released. Both are from Sidney.

The crash is still under investigation. The patrol says neither man was wearing a helmet.
