A registered sex offender is charged with raping a woman in a restroom at Rogue Community College.
The 33-year-old Medford man, Juan Fidencio Holman-Ramirez, was arraigned Monday in Jackson County Circuit Court and is held on $1 million bail. He told police the encounter with the 24-year-old woman was consensual. Neither are Rogue college students.
The Mail Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1eQhAed) the two met in downtown Medford Thursday and walked to the campus looking for cigarettes. When he allegedly started fondling her, she retreated into a unisex restroom to get away. Police say he forced his way inside and attacked her.
He has previous convictions for sex abuse and failing to report as a sex offender.
