EVERETT, Wash. -

A Snohomish County man charged in the strangulation death of a music teacher has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.

The Daily Herald reports 23-year-old Christopher Garcia Gonzalez, of Marysville, was sentenced Monday after being convicted of second-degree murder in the September 2015 death of Christopher Davis.

Jurors were told that the 32-year-old victim had met Garcia Gonzalez after advertising online for a "hot male housekeeper."

Davis' body was found in his Lynnwood townhouse three weeks later.

Based on text messages, detectives suspect the two men had some sort of falling out, with Davis accusing Garcia Gonzalez of using him for money and marijuana, before Davis' death.

Garcia Gonzalez has denied being responsible for the killing but admitted to being the last person to see Davis alive.
