Helena, MT -

A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit over the release of data from the Colstrip power plant after the parties reached a settlement agreement.

U.S. District Judge Dana Christiansen on Tuesday dismissed PPL Montana's lawsuit against the Environmental Protection Agency.

PPL Montana had sued the federal agency to prevent it from releasing a list of capital improvements made to the Colstrip plant to two environmental groups that had requested the data under the Freedom of Information Act.

The sides reached an agreement last month in which PPL released most of the data requested. It showed the power company spent more than $127 million over eight years in capital improvements at the power plant.

In dismissing the case, Christiansen ordered the sides to pay their own attorneys' fees.
