A public defender and a prosecutor have been chosen to fill two judicial vacancies on the Jackson County Circuit Court.
Gov. John Kitzhaber announced the appointments of J. Adam Peterson and Kelly Ravassipour on Monday.
Peterson received his bachelor's degree from Willamette University before attending Creighton University School of Law. Peterson has spent his legal career at the Jackson County District Attorney's Office.
Ravassipour also graduated from Willamette University before getting her law degree from the University of Oregon. She has been with the Southern Oregon Public Defender's Office since 2003.
The Mail Tribune newspaper reports (http://is.gd/JBJzAz) they are filling the seats of retired judges Daniel Harris and G. Philip Arnold.
